The youth exchange will:
- Support intercultural learning, active participation in the community on all levels;
- Develop communication competences in order to promote inclusion, to improve confidence and self-empowerment, and to learn methods of working together in various situations and environments;
- Use accessible outdoor activities as tools for inclusion and for a healthy lifestyle;
- Include topics like environment, eco-friendly and sustainability in their activities;
The objectives of the project are achieved during the 7 days youth exchange to Paralia Katerinis, Greece, March 20-26, 2023 (travel days not included), were 42 participants of whom 30 youngsters, 5 youth leaders, 5 accompanying persons and 2 facilitators, will be given the opportunity to experience adapted and inclusive outdoor activities and sport workshops in a mixed-ability group. Together with visually impaired participants will discover and develop skills for more independent living, healthy lifestyle, and social inclusion. During the youth exchange, the participants will develop or improve a set of soft skills, develop and build good practices in regard of indoor, outdoor activities and sports with visually impaired/blind youngsters and learn about healthy lifestyle.
The typical, non-visual impaired participants will not only take an active part in the project activities but will also have a role as a facilitators and helpers for visual impaired youngsters.
